metal injection molding

Our partner Cadence, Inc., a full-service provider of contract manufacturing for medical technology and diagnostics, has expanded its portfolio and now also offers metal injection molding (MIM) solutions.

Metal injection molding, also known as MIM technology, is a modern manufacturing process that is ideal for producing small to medium-sized parts with complex geometries. This process combines the versatility of plastic injection molding with the material properties of metal. A wide range of materials can be processed, including stainless steel, tungsten, magnetic and implantable materials, as well as specialty alloys such as nickel-cobalt alloys.

Cadence offers comprehensive in-house capabilities for compounding and mixing, ensuring consistently high material quality through state-of-the-art mixing processes and computer-controlled weighing systems. This allows for densities of over 98%, ensuring maximum stability.

Particularly in medical technology, where the highest precision is required for the development of instruments and devices, metal injection molding is the perfect solution. Typical applications include complex components for medical devices, parts for (robot-assisted) surgical instruments, and orthopedic components.
