The new ISO Standard 80369 „Small-bore connectors for liquids and gases in healthcare applications“ is replacing the Luer-Connector as an universal connector by specific standards according to different applications in order to prevent mismatching.
The ISO 80369-7 standard defines connectors for intravascular or hypodermic applications. MedNet’s portfolio will comprise ISO 80369-7 compatible configirations with barb luers and bond-in connections for common tubing sizes. Requests for additional sizes and custom components are welcomed.
MedNet furthermore provides ISO 80369 compliant connectors and caps for Enteral Feeding (ISO 80369-3), Non-Invasive Blood Pressure applications (ISO/IEC 80369-5) and for Neuroaxial applications (ISO 80369-6).
The medical-grade materials to produce these parts are clear with no colorants added, and are lipid-resistant. If required, the parts can be produced in colored version. ENT connectors can be provided with bond-in connections for 5F to 10F tubing and with a barbed connection for 1/8" (3.2mm) ID flexible tubing. Cap and plug configurations are also available.

ISO 80369-5 compliant connectors can be provided with connections for tubing with IDs ranging from 3/32" (2.4mm) to 3/16" (4.8mm).

Small and lightweight, these connectors are easy-to-clean and offer comfort and compliance. The available medical-grade materials feature excellent solvent bonding properties. The female connectors showcase wings and the male connectors have an easy-to-grip hub. The available caps and plugs seal off the connectors for irradiation, and there are vented versions for use with ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilization.
